Cytomegalovirus is a genus of viruses in the order Herpesvirales, in the family Herpesviridae, in the subfamily Betaherpesvirinae. Humans and monkeys serve as natural hosts.

The fuel for the process leading to orgasm is testosterone, a hormone produced in steady supply by the testicles. Her adult cardiothoracic training was completed at Columbia University and congenital training at Lurie Children's Hospital in Chicago. Her clinical areas of expertise include the treatment of:

• Neonates, infants, and children with complex congenital heart disease
• Adult patients with congenital heart disease, including patients previously repaired
• Valve disease, including Ebstein's anomaly
• Pediatric patients with heart failure, including mechanical circulatory support and heart transplantation
• Patients with vascular rings and tracheal stenosis

In addition to her clinical areas of expertise, Dr. Stephens is active in outcomes research relative to congenital heart disease and is extensively published on various cardiac surgery conditions. She has a particular interest in education, including serving on national committees and mentoring trainees of all levels.

Central venous access is essential in providing quality medical care to many patients for whom intensive therapy is required. In many situations, a semipermanent tunneled central line is preferred (see Indications). An anterior approach to the internal jugular vein (IJV) is the best option in this situation because it offers the easiest route with a low risk of complications. In this procedure, a tunneled catheter is surgically inserted into a vein in the neck or chest and passed under the skin. Only the end of the catheter is brought through the skin; medicines and intravenous (IV) fluid can be administered through this catheter; other tasks, such as blood sampling, can also be performed. The fact that the catheter is passed under the skin helps secure the catheter, reduces the rate of infection, and permits free movement of the catheter port. The placement of a tunneled catheter should be carried out by practitioners with specific experience in the procedure.

The respiratory examination is one of the three core clinical skills, respiratory, cardiac and abdominal examinations. In this video, we demonstrate how to perform a clinical examination of the RESPIRATORY SYSTEM for your medical school Clinical Skills OSCE. As the resp exam is sure a core skill when it comes to examining patients, students should assume that a respiratory assessment is a high yield station for any clinical exams or clinical assessments.

For a passing grade in your Clinical Skills OSCE, for resp examination follow the approach of:
- Inspection
- Palpation
- Percussion
- Auscultation

HOWEVER, a respiratory examination OSCE station does not just involve auscultating the lungs, this video also demonstrates some of the specialised examination techniques required in examining patients such as tactile vocal resonance, and checking the JVP which may be seen to be elevated in pulmonary hypertension

Coughs, colds and general concerns about the chest are a common reason for patients to see a doctor, and in any speciality is probably the most commonly performed patient examination

In Today's video, we will answer: Asian blepharoplasty or double eyelid surgery can be done for caucasian?

What is double eyelid surgery?
The people of an oriental race or south-east Asians have big upper eyelids or sagging upper eyelids which give a visual impression of having small eyelids. They do not form eyelid fold. A person who does not have an eye fold but desires to get an eye fold may have to undergo double eyelid surgery.

What is the upper eye fold?
When we observe the anatomy of upper eyelids there is a muscle known as levator palpebrae superiors (LPS) Which helps in raising and closing of the eyelids. Eyelid fold is formed only when we open our eyes this is because a thin layer of LPS muscle gets inserted into the skin. When this muscle contracts to open the eyelid, the layer of the skin where the LPS muscle attaches gets pulled in, which forms the eyelid fold.
The people who do not have upper eyelid fold means that they do have LPS muscle but this does not get inserted into the skin. So in Asian blepharoplasty or double eyelid surgery doctors insert this LPS muscle into the skin through a surgical procedure. Also, doctors access whether the patient has excess upper eyelid fat/ skin so they may remove it but the LPS muscle is sutured into the skin so that the upper eyelid fold is formed.

Asian blepharoplasty involves three things
1. Suturing/ stitching of LPS muscle to the skin
2. Removal of excess fat if needed
3. Removal of excess skin if needed

So now that we know what is double eyelid surgery lets answer some of the common questions
1. Asian blepharoplasty or double eyelid surgery can be performed on Caucasians?
The answer to this question is NO, as they do not require it because they already have an upper eye fold.

2. Can Double eyelid surgery be performed on white skin??
Yes. It can be performed on any colour of skin. It can be performed on anyone who desires to have an upper eye fold who does not have an eye fold. It is not related to any skin colour, it's just about whether the person has upper eyelid fold or not.

This is a daycare surgery. The surgery is done under local anaesthesia. The patient is discharged immediately after surgery. There will be swelling and bruising around eyes which settles down in a week. The results can be seen immediately.
