Rheumatic heart disease (RHD) is the most common acquired heart disease in children in many countries of the world, especially in developing countries. The global burden of disease caused by rheumatic fever currently falls disproportionately on children living in the developing world, especially where poverty is widespread. RHD is a chronic heart condition caused by rheumatic fever that can be prevented and controlled. Rheumatic fever is caused by a preceding group A streptococcal (strep) infection. Treating strep throat with antibiotics can prevent rheumatic fever. Moreover, regular antibiotics (usually monthly injections) can prevent patients with rheumatic fever from contracting further strep infections and causing progression of valve damage. Consequences of rheumatic heart disease Acute rheumatic fever primarily affects the heart, joints and central nervous system. The major importance of acute rheumatic fever is its ability to cause fibrosis of heart valves, leading to crippling valvular heart disease, heart failure and death. The decline of rheumatic fever in developed countries is believed to be the result of improved living conditions and availability of antibiotics for treatment of group A streptococcal infection. Overcrowding, poor housing conditions, undernutrition and lack of access to healthcare play a role in the persistence of this disease in developing countries.

No, they weren't hiding in the Amazon or roving solo across the Sahara (although we have no doubt there are women in both the Amazon and the Sahara who have magnificent mammaries); it turns out these perfect breasts were hiding in a plastic surgeon's office this whole time! Now, before you get all worked up, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) would like you to know that the super-fake looking plastic breasts of yore are not actually what people think are most attractive now. According to a study published in the Journal of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery—which involved asking over 1,300 people to look at pictures of naked boobies and rank them by hotness (stop laughing, this is serious research!)—people preferred a more "real" and "normal" look from their silicone, with the ideal breast shape having a 45:55 ratio. People said the best chests have 45 percent of the fullness above the nipple line and 55 percent of the fullness below, in a slightly teardrop shape. Researchers noted this preference remained consistent across gender, racial, and ethnic groups with the 45:55 ratio favored by 87 percent of women in their 30s, 90 percent of men, and 94 percent of plastic surgeons.

2.Very fine cuts are made by a very fine scalpel so that the scars which patients get are minimal. a bloodless dissection is done through an infra cartilaginous incision. This dissection is done just above the cartilage The soft tissue over the tip is removed to make the tip look thinner and sharper (Diamond shaped) and once the desired shape is obtained the incisions are closed.
3. In the end, the nose is covered by gauze packing and splints to support the nose as it begins to heal. The nasal pack is removed in 24 hours and the splints stay for 7 days.

Once the splints and nasal packs are removed the patient can see the results of the rhinoplasty. There is no physical limitation after the surgery. The ultrasonic rhinoplasty makes the swelling less and the recovery is faster. The patient is discharged on the same day of surgery and can resume all the activities. There is no pain at all or no physical rest required.

Very often, we have patients who present with abdominal tenderness which likely is a sports hernia. A sports hernia is a weakness in the soft tissue and muscle area around their pubic symphysis and their lower abdomen. This is important because these muscles are their core muscles, and the core muscles are part of your pelvic floor as well. So if you have a weakness there, you will have a weakness in your pelvic floor and thus causing the pelvic pain. Having a sports hernia can now result into pelvic pain because of their weakness in their abdominal muscles and their core. Then patients may present with pain in their groin, they may present with pain going down their leg, pain in their hip. Pelvic pain does radiate, and it does not just stay in one location, so it can mimic other things like lower back pain.

Patients with sports hernias can attribute this from being very active. Oftentimes, they are athletes or have active lifestyles. We're evaluating their lumbar spine, we're evaluating their hips, we're evaluating their abdomen and checking to see if they could have a potential hernia. When patients have sports hernias, we also have to treat the underlying pelvic floor dysfunction that they may have.

Typically, we do that with pelvic floor physical therapists, possibly some Valium suppositories, maybe a nerve medication for any neurogenic inflammation, if they need, we may do hydrodissection nerve blocks and trigger point injections to their pelvic floor. And at the same time, we're hopefully working with a hernia surgeon to evaluate if there is a need for repair of the sports hernia. When patients present with pelvic pain, we're trying to understand where their pelvic pain is coming from and why they have it. Until we figure out what's causing the issue, the pain won't resolve.

Testicular torsion occurs when a testicle rotates, twisting the spermatic cord that brings blood to the scrotum. The reduced blood flow causes sudden and often severe pain and swelling. Testicular torsion is most common between ages 12 and 16, but it can occur at any age, even before birth. Testicular torsion usually requires emergency surgery. If treated quickly, the testicle can usually be saved. But when blood flow has been cut off for too long, a testicle might become so badly damaged that it has to be removed.
