LIZ: The first time the doctor made my tip too narrow and I didnt look like myself. The second time the doctor made my tip too wide, and actually took out (removed) extra bone from the side of my nose. That didnt need to be taken out (removed)

DR. NASSIF: Liz came into me for a revision rhinoplasty. She told me that shes had two previous rhinoplasties. She was unhappy with the way her nose appeared on her face. She felt it was asymmetric, the tip was kind of bulbous, or large appearing, especially when she looked up, this view, it was very asymmetric. And so, her whole goal was to make it look better, hopefully make it her LAST surgery, and also to help with her breathing.

One of the things thats very important about revision rhinoplasty that you always have to consider is; What are you going to find in there? Even though you can feel the nose, you can palpate it, you can look at it, and you can guess what the other doctors have performed; your first up-hill battle is to see how much scar tissue youre going to be able to identify with. So when you have to open up the nose, you have to remove the scar tissue, identify it: whats there, whats present, whats been removed. Then after you do that, and you have cartilage now ready for grafting, or fascia, or perichondrium, you have to start rebuilding it. Rebuilding it (cartilage) is the second big stage after weve already carved everything; weve carved the cartilage. In that scenario when Im playing with the nose, in regards to staring at the profile, staring at the front of the nose, I go back and forth and look inside and outside of the nose to make sure its as symmetric as possible. That takes a long time One of Lizs main complaints was that on her profile, that her tip stuck out too far. And so one of the things I had to do in surgery is called a medial cura tuck-up, I had to push the tip back, by pushing the tip back, it can make the tip look a little bit wider. But in this situation, I was able to bring everything in as much as I can. After Im finished with everything, and Im happy, then we go ahead and we start to close the nose. Thats putting every little small stitch in perfectly, so that the scar will be minimally visible.

This is an Abdominal Liposuction surgery performed by Dr. Art Foley. Although no type of liposuction is a substitute for dieting and exercise, liposuction can remove stubborn areas of fat that don't respond to traditional weight loss methods.

After the diagnosis of primary melanoma of pectoral region had been established, the patient was referred to lymphoscintigraphy with gamma camera (techencium; nanno colloid). Two hours after the administration of the contrast medium, the operation commenced. During the operation the primary tumor wa...s excised, and the sentinel node was detected with the use of gamma probe and also excised.

Breast reduction can relieve strain from shoulder straps, neck, back, and upper arms.
It can provide an uplift to help clothes fit and look better. Traditionally, insurance companies would provide benefits for a broad range of breast sizes and gram weight of tissue to be removed from each breast. At present most insurance companies limit authorization when the doctor plans to remove less than 500gm weight per breast. Since many patients present with symptoms in a D cup to DD cup, often, the very removal of over 500 grams weight may reduce the breasts too much. This amount of reduction may not be in harmony with body shape. Newer methods of breast assembly after reduction, will tighten things using internal brassiere techniques that also compact and reduce breast volume. Therefore, a gram weight reduction of 500gms in some patients combined with internal tightening efforts, could pose an over-reduction. With the unreliability of insurance support in some cases, it is best not to look solely at gram weight in the surgical planning of breast reduction. When excess skin and weight is removed, the improved location of the breasts on the chest will give marked relief of symptoms.

Surgery takes from 2 to 5 hours and can be done as an outpatient or with a brief overnight stay. When possible, no scarring other than around the areola can be planned which follows the Brazilian and French methods (Goes and Benelli). For very large reductions, a vertical method, or T pattern approach is offered. Recovery is a few days, with special care to avoid strain for 4 to 6 weeks. Some soreness may persist for a few weeks. The breasts can appear tight, swollen, and bruised at first, but will usually settle to their near final look by 6 weeks. There may be sutures to be removed in some cases. Costs relate to the severity of the sag, and weight of the breasts.

The operation can make a stunning change in body image, relief of upper body symptoms, and offer a cosmetic lift to naturally sloping breasts.
