Most women have vaginal discharge at many different times throughout their cycle. During ovulation, white and watery discharge is common and accepted as normal. But, discharge after ovulation is widely believed to be a sign of pregnancy.

This particular video is intended as a demonstration of Neurologic Examination. This demonstration is intended as an example of a neurologic exam which may be used as part of the initial evaluation of patients with complaints that may have an underlying neurologic origin. This video is solely for educational purposes and intended for use to prepare for OSCEs incorporating standardized patient encounters. All forms of heparin (including low-molecular-weight heparin such as enoxaparin) must be stopped immediately in patients with suspected heparin-induced thrombocytopenia (HIT) while awaiting diagnostic confirmation. Patients with HIT remain at high risk of thrombosis even after discontinuation of heparin. Therefore, an alternate, rapidly acting, non-heparin anticoagulant such as direct thrombin inhibitor (eg, argatroban, bivalirudin) must be started immediately.

As the gastrointestinal exam is a core skill when it comes to examining patients, students should assume that an abdominal assessment is a high yield station for any clinical exams or clinical assessments.

For a passing grade in your Clinical Skills OSCE, for the cardiac exam follow the approach of:
- Inspection
- Palpation
- Percussion
- Auscultation

HOWEVER, an cardiac examination OSCE station does not just involve listening to the heart this video also demonstrates some of the specialised examination techniques required in examining cardiology patients

Please note that there is no ABSOLUTE way to perform a clinical examination. Different institutions and even clinicians will have differing degrees of variations - the aim is the effectively identify medically relevant signs.

However during OSCE assessments. Different medical schools, nursing colleges and other health professional courses will have their own preferred approach to a clinical assessment - you should concentrate on THEIR marks schemes for your assessments.
