The prostate gland is about the size of a walnut in most men. It sits at the bottom of the pelvis, right under the bladder. The floor of the bladder is basically the top of the prostate. The rectum wraps around the back of the prostate, so the front wall of the rectum is lying over the prostate itself. The urethra is a thin tube that runs through the middle of the prostate and allows you to urinate. On top of the prostate, these two things that look like rabbit ears
are called seminal vesicles. They secrete fluids that are added to sperm to make semen. The disease itself, in any treatment for the disease, can affect all of these organs because they're so tightly bound together in a small space.
