A German-narrated surgical video shows antegrade varicocele sclerotherapy, the Tauber procedure, under general anesthesia. The commentary follows exposing the spermatic cord vein, placing safety sutures, injecting contrast for an X-ray record of the vein's course, injecting the sclerosing agent with an air-block technique, and closing the skin.

Key points

  • The spermatic cord is exposed through a small scrotal incision
  • The target vein is isolated and safety sutures are placed
  • Contrast is injected so an X-ray documents the vein's course
  • The sclerosing agent is injected using an air-block technique
  • The cord is repositioned and the skin is sutured closed
Chapters
  • 0:01 — Procedure introduction in German narration
  • 1:58 — Safety sutures placed around vein
  • 3:27 — Contrast injection and X-ray record
  • 3:59 — Sclerosing agent air-block injection
