One of the gaits that you'll have to learn for crutches is the 4-point gait. An example of a four point gait crutch pattern would be the patient moving the right crutch first (on the injured side), followed by the left foot, then the left crutch, and then the right foot. Then, you'll repeat this pattern.

Three to five years after gastric bypass surgery, some patients start to regain weight because the size of their stoma (the opening at the bottom of the stomach pouch) or their stomach pouch itself has increased. This can keep you from feeling full after small meals.
To resolve this problem, our surgeons use new surgical tools to create and suture folds into the pouch, reducing its volume and at the stoma to decrease its diameter. The surgeon performs the procedure entirely through the mouth -- inserting an endoscope under heavy sedation -- so there are no external incisions into the body.
Surgical site infections (SSIs) remain a prevalent threat to patient safety. Proper surgical hand scrub or rub techniques are essential to decreasing the incidence of SSIs. Serious injuries, by and large, cause a lot of swelling in the knee. Especially in younger patients. Now, someone could be arthritic and they overdo it going for a big long hike and they get some swelling the next day. But rapid onset of swelling, it's like hard to make out where your kneecap is, is a pretty big cardinal sign that there's something serious that's happened to your knee. Rapid onset swelling is usually due to blood in the joint. "A meniscus that really tears and flips in the front. You tear your quad or your patellar tendon, your kneecap dislocates, you tear a little blood vessel, your ACL tears, a piece of cartilage in bone gets knocked off and causes bleeding. So a lot of the really significant injuries, people get rapid onset swelling within three to four hours and they should seek attention There's always exceptions to rules, but if your knee looks like a grapefruit, you should go get it checked.

💥If you have this, it’s likely because your patellar tendon was over-stressed beyond what it can currently handle (due to loads that are too high or lack of recovery).
🔑 Try 5 reps of 45 second holds
🔑 2 min of rest in between each rep
🔑 Keep your knees at roughly 60 deg angle
🔑 7/10 intensity
🔑Should not increase pain during or after exercise
📚A research article found that this protocol using a knee extension machine provided significant short term pain relief. Most people don’t have a knee extension machine at home, so you could try out a wall sit instead!
🔑It may be useful during the season of competition to decrease pain and allow the athlete to compete, if needed.
