Emergency angioplasty is an operation that is performed directly after a heart attack, on admission to the hospital. It involves the insertion of a catheter into the blocked blood vessel that caused the heart attack. This opens it up and allows blood to flow again, thus minimizing damage to the heart.
If one or more arteries become clogged, it may result in a heart attack. This normally presents with chest pain, sweating and a feeling of anxiety, among other symptoms. Urgent medical assistance should be sought. A heart attack is a medical emergency requiring intervention as soon as possible.

A cancer of the colon or rectum is located at the digestive tract's lower end. Early cases can begin as noncancerous polyps. These often have no symptoms but can be detected by screening. For this reason, doctors recommend screenings for those at high risk or over the age of 50.

Colorectal cancer symptoms depend on the size and location of the cancer. Some commonly experienced symptoms include changes in bowel habits, changes in stool consistency, blood in the stool, and abdominal discomfort.

The American Cancer Society estimates that there will be about 200,000 new cases of colorectal cancer this year. Combined, colon and rectal cancer will cause about 75,000 deaths.

This video, created by Nucleus Medical Media, shows a coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) procedure used to combat coronary artery disease. Beginning with a midline sternal incision, the heart is connected to a perfusion machine which will take over the duties of the heart while the surgery takes place. Two different grafts are used to bypass the blocked coronary arteries: the internal thoracic artery from inside the chest wall, and the saphenous vein from the leg. After the procedure, the heart is shocked to restart its beating. A drainage tube is left at the incision site to drain away excess fluid. The animation continues to show two other types of approaches to a coronary artery bypass graft, off-pump bypass surgery and minimally invasive bypass surgery.

This is similar to the procedure performed on former president Bill Clinton and former California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Gynecomastia Surgery Recovery: What to Expect

Have you recently undergone gynecomastia surgery or are planning to? This video covers everything you need to know about the recovery process in a simple and easy-to-understand way.
After gynecomastia surgery, it is normal to experience some bruising and swelling, which may increase for the first 2-3 days and then gradually decrease. Your doctor will make a small incision (about 3-6 mm) on the side of your chest, usually with a single stitch that is removed after seven days. Keeping the wound clean and applying prescribed ointments will help it heal properly. After two weeks, silicone gel is advised to improve the scar appearance.

You will also need to wear a compression garment for at least six weeks. This helps reduce swelling and ensures your skin tightens properly. Gentle massages start after two days and continue for about 6-8 weeks to speed up recovery. Painkillers and antibiotics will be prescribed for five days to help with pain and prevent infection. You can resume daily activities immediately, but intense workouts like cardio should start only after one week, and weight training after two weeks, while still wearing your compression garment.
